This course package is designed to arm participants with in-depth knowledge of modern security protocols, ensuring the protection of company IT systems against both current and potential future attacks. It focuses on the latest technologies and long-term security solutions, including cutting-edge advancements. A significant highlight is the inclusion of quantum-safe protocols, which are essential in safeguarding IT systems against the formidable computational power of quantum computers. Through this course, learners will gain a comprehensive understanding of current security measures and future-proof strategies.

The subject package (fagpakke) consists of three individual subjects:

  • Applied Cryptography
  • Modern Security Solutions: Safeguarding the digital landscape
  • Blockchain Security and Privacy

Target group and outcome

Content

The subject package comprises three individual subjects. The first subject introduces Applied Cryptography, covering diverse algorithms and protocols for encryption, decryption, authentication, etc.

The second subject delves into Internet of Things security, exploring topics such as different types of popular attacks on security algorithms, post-quantum and quantum key distribution for secure communication, along with advanced technologies for long-term security.

The third subject focuses on distributed networks, blockchain, and advanced privacy technologies such as Zero Knowledge Proofs and Multiparty Computation.

Teaching

Teaching is based on a combination of lectures, active learning, problem solving and cases. There is an alternation between self-study, physical seminars/workshops and mini-projects that are solved individually or in groups.

You must expect a weekly study effort of 12-15 hours on average. This can vary according to prerequisites and level of ambition.
