The module Advanced Applications of Large Language Models for generative AI in Industry is aimed at professionals and researchers who need to be upskilled in Natural Language Processing and its industrial applications, enabling them to harness the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) in various industrial contexts.
This is a 5-day intensive course designed for industry professionals and researchers seeking to enhance their expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and the industrial deployment of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI.
Key Highlights:
- Prerequisites: Basic programming knowledge (preferably Python) and prior experience with LLM applications (e.g., ChatGPT).
- Core Topics: Advanced LLM architectures, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), fine-tuning techniques, and system integration strategies.
- Format: Daily sessions from 9:00–16:00, combining theoretical lectures with hands-on technical exercises.
- Practical Focus: Real-world industrial case studies in manufacturing, e.g., supply chain automation, and human-robot interaction.
- Final Activity: Participant poster presentations, group discussions, and a tour of the AAU Smart Lab.
This course equips participants with both theoretical understanding and practical skills to effectively implement and optimize LLM-based solutions in industrial settings.
Course Content
The focus is on state-of-the-art LLM technologies used for complex language tasks such as text generation and analysis. The module provides in-depth knowledge about model selection, dataset preparation, and the analytical tools required for training and fine-tuning LLMs. It will equip participants with the skills to apply a range of practical techniques for implementing LLMs, both in terms of solving industrial challenges and optimizing processes.
The hands-on methods focus on using commercial and open-source LLM tools and frameworks. The module consists of lectures providing knowledge and theory in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as well as a series of exercises that can be tailored to the participants, giving them skills in the application and deployment of LLMs to drive innovation across various industrial sectors.
