The strengths of diversity and difference are the focus of TECH's new vision. The next step is concrete activities in the departments.

Aalborg University has ambitions to be a diverse and inclusive organization that considers diversity as a strength and dares to find new ways to create a more inclusive culture. The entire organization must commit to this goal in the 2023-2025 period. 

At the beginning of 2023, inclusion reports were thus published both for Aalborg University as a whole and for the individual faculties, including TECH. 

According to Dean Thomas Bak, the report contains several interesting areas where the faculty can strengthen its efforts.

"Among other things, we need to focus more on our international staff members. But it is generally important to address diversity and inclusion when we talk about both recruitment and retention of talented staff. We are a modern workplace where there must of course be a focus on the strengths of diversity and difference."

The faculty has now prepared a vision for diversity and inclusion, which can be found here: TECH as a Workplace. The next step is to develop concrete activities at the departments that will be approved in the autumn. Then, towards the beginning of 2025, we will work on achieving the ambitions jointly by involving management, staff, the local consultation committees and the faculty consultation committee.
