Per Michael Johansen, Rector of Aalborg University (AAU) since 2014, holds a Doctor of Science (dr.scient.) in Physics. He has previously served as Professor at the Risø National Laboratory, the University of Southern Denmark, and Aalborg University, as well as Dean at the University of Southern Denmark. In addition, he has held positions such as Director of the International Maritime Academy in Svendborg.

Under his leadership, Aalborg University has been actively engaged in addressing the global dilemmas that impact us all. Guided by the motto "Knowledge for the World", the university is working strategically to become a mission-driven institution with a strong emphasis on an interdisciplinary and transformative approach to knowledge creation.
