Since the university began the process of finding a new pro-rector for research at the beginning of 2024, the world has changed significantly. The new geo- and security policy situation means strategic considerations for Aalborg University. 

Given the new comprehensive reforms in the university sector and the announcement of a research policy reform during 2025, the rector has decided not to fill the position of pro-rector at this time. The position is expected to be advertised at a later date once a new strategy is in place.
