From week 5 of the new year, the new financial system is rolled out step by step, so that one module is implemented at a time. In January, the previous system, ØSS, which has been used at AAU for many years, will close. The new system, Oracle ERP, will, on the other hand, present itself with a more modern user interface and options for ongoing updates.

A good transition

In the run-up to the switch to Oracle ERP, all employees who work with finance in ØSS today will be invited to meetings where the new system is demonstrated, as well as training in the actual use of the system directly in connection with the individual modules being put into use. Functional manager Lisa Thordal Lavrsen from the Finance and Accounts Department says:

- "We have already planned a number of activities from October until the end of January 2023, when Oracle ERP will be put into use. We really want to make a smooth transition from ØSS, which many know the ins and outs of, so that the employees also feel comfortable with the new system. This is also why we are doing a step-by-step rollout, so that it doesn't all come at once"

Information on the meetings and training can be found on the Oracle ERP website. In addition, Tactical Economic Leadership Forum (TØLF) will receive ongoing information directly by email.

The main part of the information and teaching activities will take place before week 8 of the new year, but after that there will of course be an introduction and courses for new users. As an extension of the implementation of Oracle ERP, other renewals on the system page will follow naturally. Project leader Sabine Jensen Jåtog from ITS says:

"During the project, there have been considerations about replacing RUS2, but this will not happen at the same time as Oracle ERP is introduced at AAU. In the project group, we expect to lay out a further plan for RUS2 at the beginning of the new year. Right now we first need to successfully roll out Oracle ERP to the many employees who handle financial tasks", Sabine concludes.
