Mette Vinther Larsen, Professor with specific responsibilities has been appointed acting head of department at AAU Business School (AAUBS). The appointment comes after AAU has reached a mutual agreement of resignation with former head of department Christian Nielsen and former vice head of department Morten Lund.
Mette Vinther Larsen is currently a professor with specific responsibilities in management, strategy and reflexivity. Her tasks as acting head of department will be to handle the day-to-day operations of the department and a number of current challenges until further notice.
In recent years, AAUBS has worked to obtain an international accreditation as a Business School (AACSB). In addition, the department faces other major tasks, including its involvement in AAU's overall institutional accreditation.
- If AAUBS is to be able to handle the tasks facing the department, we need a focused effort and new cohesion. After a summer of uncertainty about the department's management, it is my assessment that AAUBS needs a new beginning. So, in addition to the appointment of Mette Vinther Larsen, I am initiating several other changes in the department management, says Dean Rasmus Antoft, SSH Faculty.
Specifically, the changes mean that Jens Holmgren, Vice Head of Department; Louise Kringelum, Head of Studies; and Jacob Brix, Head of Section will return to their research positions as associate professors and professor, respectively. Associate professor Kristian Nielsen is appointed as acting head of studies.
Kristian Nielsen is currently chair of the study board with responsibility for the Bachelor's programme in Economics and Business Administration as well as eight professional master's programmes.
