It was a sea of blue AAU jerseys when 1,050 AAU staff took part in the DHL Relay Race at Dyreskuepladsen in Aalborg on Tuesday, 27 August. Spirits were high, and many of the university's departments and units had turned up to either walk the distance together as a team or run the five kilometres together as a relay.

"It's such a good way to spend time with colleagues – it's informal and nice, and we can poke a little fun at each other's efforts with a twinkle in our eye. If you haven’t participated yet and felt the atmosphere then I warmly encourage you to sign up next year. It's really a good event where you feel the AAU community," says Rector Per Michael Johansen.

AAU staff in Copenhagen also showed support for the DHL Relay Race where 110 staff members took part in the race in Fælledparken on 26 August. The participants were divided into 13 running teams and nine walking teams.

The DHL Relay Race was not held in Esbjerg, but the university took part in Vestkystløbet on Sunday, 9 June.
