ADRA is a relatively new EU network established last year, and since AAU is now involved quite early in the process, there are good opportunities to help set the agenda for what the network focuses on in terms of direction, policies and strategic goals in AI, data and robotics that can be addressed directly to the EU. Thomas Bak, Dean of TECH said:
- "Adra is the European focal point for AI, data and robotics, and the membership gives us a gateway to new collaborative partners and a unique opportunity to influence the agenda of future EU programs in the field", says Thomas Bak.
Charlotte P. Jacobsen, Head of AAU's EU Office in Brussels adds:
- "Networks like ADRA focus on bringing together the brightest minds from both academia and industry, ensuring that the best minds collaborate on the direction the EU needs to take in AI, data and robotics. The network helps to influence where the EU should strengthen its research in the future, and here AAU will now be a very visible partner, as we are strong in all three fields. It will also give AAU's researchers valuable relationships with talented European research colleagues and shorten the path to collaborations and consortia", says Charlotte P. Jacobsen.
The membership means that all AAU researchers can get involved in the network, and therefore work is already underway on an organizational model to ensure that the valuable opportunities for AAU in the membership can be leveraged and that relevant actors can act in the network. AAU's AI for the People Center has taken the initiative to apply for membership on behalf of AAU and handles the contact between AAU and ADRA. Ramus D. Jensen acts as the contact person between ADRA and AI for the People and explains:
- " In AI for the People, we collaborate with Research Services and AAU's EU office on how we can organize, work with and lift the potential. In the beginning, we will send out general information to all AAU researchers, so there is ample opportunity to learn more about the possibilities of getting involved in the network. Among other things, there are a number of working groups under the network, which are quite ideal for AAU to take part in", says Rasmus D. Jensen.
If you as a researcher already now would like to hear more and/or get involved in working groups in the ADRA network, please contact Rasmus D. Jensen.
If you would like to hear more about the EU partnerships, please contact the EU Office.
