A new vision process includes the Sustainable Development Goals

The Faculty of Medicine has a new vision. SUND managers were inspired by a presentation on how the UN's Sustainable Development Goals could be viewed in a health science context.

Where do we want to be as a faculty of medicine in 2030? How do we best match our strengths and potentials with future health and well-being needs? The health problems and healthcare systems of the future are on the agenda in a vision process that involves employees, managers and experts from other branches of the health field.

In the process, inspiration is drawn not only from the field of health sciences, but also from futurists and design thinkers - and from the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, which SUND managers were introduced to in a presentation by Strategic Advisor for Communication Lone Bechmann:

‘The UN's Sustainable Development Goals are complex to work with, and you can quickly lose track of how you can actually implement them in your organisation. Many equate the Development Goals with sustainability - and sustainability with climate action. But the Development Goals are far more than climate and environment. In addition to the concrete efforts, the Development Goals are about a specific approach to the world; to have sustainable ideals, a sustainable vision and a sustainable practice’, says Lone Bechmann.
