WORKING HANDS-ON WITH TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS AND TOURISM PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
I have worked 6 years as Area Production Manager at BilletKontoret, Denmark's largest tour operator. My duties here have involved designing, pricing, and handling tours for travel agencies, brochure and web ad creation, supplier contact and contract negotiations, helping travel agencies in their marketing efforts, and overseeing and maintaining our travel product range for Asia and beyond.
I have worked with all stakeholders in the tourism industry including national tourism organizations, destination management companies, individual suppliers of tourism products and services, travel agencies, and guides. Additionally, I have worked with CSR and ecotourism.
In 2014, I opened my own company, Beachmeter.com, which is partly a tourism consultancy, and partly an online magazine sharing stories and insights from the tourism industry, while also focusing on sustainability, and of course, beaches!
In my professional career, it is important to understand the tourism market and adapt products to new tastes and tendencies. Likewise, it is important to have a basic knowledge of the tourism industry and its players along with both theoretical and hands‐on competences with tourism development. My Tourism studies at Aalborg University have given me these competences.
