Halvledere: Hall-effekten

Kort beskrivelse af aktiviteten: It is hardly possible to imagine industry and our daily life without electronics. Nowadays, it is mainly based on semiconductors which are used to build electronic devices (diodes, transistors etc.) and integrated circuits. Silicon is currently a driving horse for electronics. Modern technologies allow fabrication of individual components on the nanoscale that leads to miniaturization of devices. It is currently possible to put a few billion devices into single processor making the computers, smart phones etc. to be very powerful, fast in operation and small.

We offer a project which will bring knowledge on principles of functioning of semiconductor devices and provide hands on experience in measuring main characteristics of semiconductor materials. In particular, so-called Hall effect, measurements of conductivity in strong magnetic field, will be used to find main electrical parameters of semiconductor such as electron concentration and mobility.
