Safe, effective and vital health services for everyone

How do you develop and operate a healthcare system of the highest quality for all of society? The Danish Center for Clinical Health Services Research carries out research into whether there is undesirable variation/inequality in the quality of the services of the Danish healthcare system.

The interdisciplinary research centre DACS, located at the Clinical Institute at AAU, was established in 2018 to find solutions to healthcare challenges through research. Healthcare systems are under pressure due to increasing demand for services and limited resources. It is therefore imperative that the healthcare systems are able to deliver high quality services in the most cost-effective way. One of the key challenges addressed by DACS concerns the unwarranted variation in the quality of healthcare, including the clinical and health economic consequences of such variation. The focus of DACS is on implementation of evidence-based care, in particular in vulnerable patients, e.g., the elderly, patients with comorbidity or patients living in specific geographical areas.

You can see an example of the research centre's research here in the article Preparing the world's healthcare systems for more elderly people with multiple diseases
